Fire Training School

Every Spring and Fall, the Meadowood County Area Fire Department offers it's Fire School, offering a wide vareity of classes in Fire, Rescue, and EMS. These courses are geared towards beginner firefighters, all the way to experienced firefighters and officers.

Classrooms and Meeting Hall Classrooms and Meeting Hall- A 2 story meeting hall, complete with kitchen facilities and large open classroom. Bside the Meeting Hall is a large open pavilion, with 3 classrooms.
SCBA House and Pump House- The SCBA building is set up to simulate a typical residential dwelling, complete with a kitchen, bedroom, living room, laundry room and attached garage with a car inside. The pump house contains large fire pumps powered by two deisal engines to supply the training center's hydrant canter.

Drill Tower Drill Tower- A 3 story tower; one side is set up for training excercises in basic rappelling & rope rescue; one side features a high tension steel line tower, cat walk and balcony for advanced rope rescue skills; one side is set up with dwelling style windows and multiple-pitched roofs; the interior is set up for hose and stand-pipe evolutions and an area for confined space training under the first floor.

Registration & Deadlines
Registrants should indicate first, second and third choices or courses (certification level is indicated with course description) in order to assure an assignment. Course assignments will be based on space available on the date the application is received. Students will be contacted in the event that all of their choices are full. Registration closes on ________ for non certified courses. Registrations for NH certified courses closes on _______. Registration confirmations will be mailed to individual students approximately 7 days before the school.

Tuition

Tuition for each registrant is $60.00 per day. Please note classes with specified amounts. Please check the class costs listed by each of the course offerings. Checks should be made payable to Meadowood Fire Department & Training Center and mailed with the students application. Students whose department is a member of the Southwestern N.H. District Fire Mutual Aid system may opt to have their department billed.

SCBA Training

Cancellations/Adminstrative Fees
Meadowood reserves the right to cancel any course at any time and to assign registrants to second or third choice courses. Tuition fees will be returned when there are no spaces available in first, second, or third choice courses, or with an acceptable reason for student cancellation prior to ________. Any registrant who fails to attend an assigned course without prior notice or without sending a substitute will forfeit the tuition and will be billed. When a student fails to show for a class without notifying Meadowood prior to the school date, he or she will be billed. PLEASE NOTE.

Meals and Expenses

Students are responsible for their own travel, meals, and lodging expenses. The Troy, NH Fire Department will sponser a breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 0600-1000 hours. Coffee and donut before 0800 plus lunch and coffee breaks are available from the Meadowood Ladies' Auxillary snack bar at the training center grounds.

Protective Clothing Requirements
PPE and SCBA are 20 hours
Please not the changes in the course offerings

A star (*) in the course description indicates that the students must provide a complete set of firefighter's protective clothing for their use. A double star (**) indicates that the student must provide a complete set of firefighter's protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for their use.
